BEN'S HOUSE

Nearly a third of foster care youths will become homeless at some time within the first year after they leave the foster care system at age 18.   Statistics show that those aging out of the foster care system will also struggle with unemployment and drug dependency, which can lead to continued reliance on government resources.

Pacific Lodge has created an independent living program to address this critical demographic of our population.  Ben's House is a five bedroom home located on the Pacific Lodge property, separate from the residential treatment program, which is open to six young men ages 18-24.  Named for long-time board member and Pacific Lodge supporter, Ben Kendall, Ben's House will ensure that these young adults receive and practice applicable life skills while in the safe environment of treatment.  This empowers transitioning youth with the confidence and self-determination to achieve their own life goals.  If you would like more information on how you can support Ben's House, please contact our Development Department at development@plys.org.
